September 2023: Remodelling preparations
We have sorted out and are getting rid of everything that no longer has a place at Schwollbachhof: We sold crockery, furniture, curtains, household items and much more for a good cause at a household clearance in September 2023.
July & August 2023: Create space
Before the remodelling can begin, we first have to make space. We are getting rid of everything from Pension Manz that will no longer be used at Schwollbachhof. However, we also want to keep some things – as a reminder of what used to be and because continuing to use something is always more sustainable than making or buying something new.
July and August are characterised by stocktaking, tidying, sorting and many, many decisions. What stays, what can go? What do we want to give away, what do we want to sell, what do we want to throw away?
The construction companies also start to open up walls and building components so that we can get a better overview of what is hidden behind them. As work has been carried out in various places over many years, we are excited to see what surprises await us.
The dismantling of the barn will start at the beginning of August. We will no longer be using it and need the space, which is why a large part of the building will be demolished. The foundation walls will remain because they will surround a barn garden in the future.
